Riedl Bassoon For Sale

Description:

1930s Ernst Riedl Bassoon, serial #178. Some newer keywork (high D, whisper lock). Classic singing pre-war sound, recently overhauled with a full repad and spring replacement. In excellent shape for an 100-year old instrument — no cracked or warped tenons, limited signs of wear, and beautiful tiger stripe maple.

Included is a Heckel CD1Z bocal, and a mystery unmarked (but surprisingly not bad) bocal.

Asking price is $8k CAD. The instrument is located in Calgary. Happy to arrange play tests throughout Southern Alberta. I’ve played this instrument for ~5 years as principal in the Calgary Wind Symphony, and have nothing bad to say about it.

Thanks,

Lyndon Rey
